" just your mugs"
back in my early teens the CO used to say that--Graham Carmichael--in the UK, 1960's.
ronald curzan ( helper to the teaching committee ) gives a talk on the real reasons jehovah's witnesses should attend meetings.
it looks like the zoom meetings have softened up many witnesses.
many are probably turning off their cameras and zoning out.

I see you have been on this site for 19 years--and are a regular and prolific poster in defence of the watchtower / jehovahs witnesses etc. In fact i think you are the only one currently doing that on here.
Would you care to tell us how long you have been a jw ? and what your role in the organisation is ?
although cooking pots are not directly "religious" subject, perhaps not many will deny that a happy belly can lead to wholesome religious thoughts and peaceful spiritual discussions.. that said, through the years i have tried most major brands of cooking pots - all the way from all-clad to cast-iron skilets - including some with the most extraordinary claims in between.. however, the one we have used the most in our kitchen is one brand from denmark, specifically, the 5 quart pot called "scanpan.
" it is now approaching 40 years of daily use, and it has held-up surprisingly well.
the handles are as tight as day one when we bought it.
the very last public talk i was supposed to give was about a wide-mouthed cooking pot. It was the last straw for me. I looked at the outline--on the sunday morning--and it made no sense to me. I had no interest and had enough.
I phoned the congregation servant--got an appointment to see him straight away--went there an resigned. Simple as that. That was 51 years ago--i was 23.

What did you think god looked like when you were ( or still are ) a JW ? or even never a jw..but believe in god ?
i would have to say yes...by tagging god's alledged name in their title and attaching to it unusual doctrines, end of world date predictions, deadly blood interpretation, abusive shunning policy, csa cover ups.. is there more?.
i doubt if jehovah cares one way or the other. I'm sure he would do something about it if he did.
Arent there other religions that also use the name in their title ?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/scottish_national_party - "however, others in the party were explicitly pro-nazi.
hugh macdiarmid, who stood as an snp candidate in 1945, believed that the nazis were "less dangerous than our own government" and wrote a poem about the london blitz that included the line "i hardly care".
arthur donaldson, who went on to lead the party between 1961 and 1969, believed a nazi invasion would benefit scotland: "the government would leave the country and england's position would be absolutely hopeless, as poverty and famine would be their only reward for declaring war on germany.
i'm all for another referendum--only this time throw it open to everyone in the UK to vote. I bet the outcome would be exactly what they want.
